The first two spots of the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings are occupied by left-handed duo of Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan in the first of what could be termed as the one two of Indian batting, Kishan also hoping to be the fourth Indian to conquer the T20I batting rankings.
Sharma has been rated on 875 points and his 52 out of 21 balls against New Zealand in the final of the ICC Men T20 World Cup 2026 in the Narendra Modi stadium and his 39 out of 25 balls against England in the semifinal have seen him topping the table with Kishan in second place following Phil Salt of England and Sahibzada Farhan of Pakistan.

Having lost by only four points to the two, Kishan too has an opportunity to follow behind Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and Sharma and become the only the fourth Indian batter to be the best in the format.
Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan of Pakistan were the most recent two batters of the same team to have held the top two spots, in September 2022.
The recent weekly rankings also have New Zealand opener Tim Seifert gaining four spots to a career-high sixth place with marks of 58 in the semifinal vs. South Africa at the Eden Gardens and 52 in the final vs. India.
Others to enjoy big scores are Jacob Bethell of England who has 100 against India in the semifinal and this, and his 89 against the West Indies and England and New Zealand, have helped him to a career-best 16th place and Player of the tournament Sanju Samson whose 97 not out against the West Indies and 89 scores against England and New Zealand have seen him climb to 22nd. Shivam Dubey (climbs up four places to 27th) and Will Jacks (climbs up eight places to 58th) have also improved.

India spinner Varun Chakravarthy had ruled at the top in the bowling rankings despite being the top wicket-taker in the tournament. He secured 14 wickets in nine matches but ran too many on the matches this past week.
Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, who has ranked at the top of T20I bowling rankings during the last four years, has returned to the top and another leg-spinner Adil Rashid of England has also climbed up a notch to fourth position following two-for-41 performance in the semifinal against India.
Jasprit Bumrah, the fast bowler of India, who was the Player of the Month in the final, with his four-wicket haul in the match, has gained a single spot to rise to the 6th position, and his team-mates, Axar Patel (up six places to 17th), Hardik Pandya (up four places to 46th) and South Africa pace bowler, Kagiso Rabada (up three places to 50th) have also improved in the ranking.
