Since he began playing cricket at the highest level possible, ardent fans of cricket will know that Jofra Archer’s tweets have gained significant traction. There have been a few times when his old tweets fit current events. One such incident arose on Wednesday, April 8 when Delhi Capitals lost to the Gujarat Titans by one run.
It was David Miller who had the Capital’s hopes on his shoulders as they were chasing a daunting target of 211 runs at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The Axar Patel-led side had needed 13 runs in the final over. With his team looking for their first win of the season, Shubman Gill turned to Prasidh Krishna with the ball.

The Capitals finished with 11 runs after four balls despite a wicket. Getting the two runs off as many balls felt like a walk in the park, with a well-set Miller on strike. But, a misplaced judgement by the southpaw hurt his team.
Miller had a chance to take a single and tie the scores on the fifth ball. But he declined to give Kuldeep Yadav the strike, maintaining that he could seal the match off the last ball. But that attempt was partial, because Krishna delivered a slower short ball the Miller couldn’t quite pull. Kuldeep ran to the striker’s end to take a bye as he attempted a quick single but Jos Buttler behind the stumps threw down the stumps with an accurate direct-hit which wanted him short of his crease.

Miller was heartbroken, the Capitals losing that game by a run. Since the result, experts such as Murali Kartik and Harbhajan Singh have hit out at the 36-year-old for his controversial decision not to take the single off of the second last ball.
“Miller mad? Cricket at 11:30,” Archer had wrote in a tweet back in 2013. This old tweet went viral on social media after the match concluded.
The previous tweet mentioned David Miller and a late-night cricket match at Gqeberha, where South Africa lost to Pakistan by just one run in an ODI in which Miller was on strike for the final ball but failed to lead his team to victory.
