On Tuesday, April 14 and Match 22 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bowler Kartik Tyagi was able to take the final revenge when he knocked the stump of Sanju Samson during their away match against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium.
Starting the 12th over, Tyagi was bowling to an in-form and set Samson, who was coming into the game on the back of his maiden century for CSK. The initial delivery of the over was smashed down the ground by a right-handed batter in the form of a mammoth six and he picked up a slower delivery perfectly.
However, Tyagi would have the last laugh. The next ball was pitched up and bowled fast and straight, which completely bamboozled Samson, who had his stumps castled. The delivery which got the better of the opening batter was bowled at 148.1 kmph.

Sanju Samson was going really well, but was eventually dismissed after scoring 48 off just 32 deliveries. Tyagi, in the meantime, would not limit himself there. Yet another change of pace saw the fast bowler get the better of Dewald Brevis, who was not able to pick the slower ball, who miss hit the ball to short third man.
Tyagi is playing his maiden season at KKR. Prior to this, he had picked up three wickets from three innings.
