During the recent third Test match between England and India at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground, India wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma was denied access by a security agent who did not recognise him. A fan captured the incident on camera, and it has since gone viral. Dinesh Karthik, a fellow cricket player and broadcaster, saved Jitesh, nevertheless.
The 31-year old when he attempted to go into the stadium in the midst of the huge number of people managed to succeed and was checked at entrance and the security officials insisted on verification. The guards had refused to admit him into the place, even after trying to state who he was. This prompted fans to know Jitesh even when the latter had a hard time finding his way to the inside. Fortunately, a former Indian cricketer, now commentator Dinesh Karthik came to the rescue of the cricketer in that mess.

However, after the video became viral, Dinesh Karthik himself republished it, claiming that the event occurred outside the commentary box rather than at the ground’s entrance. Notably, Jitesh was called to the region by the former to meet with him and other pundits. Dinesh Karthik added that social media frequently presents an ambiguous image.
“These are some issues with social media that a lot face I invited jitesh to the comm box , he had come , and I came and met him down and took him to the comm box and he met everyone there Btw this is below the media center, not the entrance to the ground.”

Jitesh Sharma Moves from Vidarbha to Baroda Ahead of 2025–26 Domestic Season

In the meanwhile, Jitesh Sharma helped Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) win its first IPL trophy in February this year, putting his team on the verge of a victory, with an unbeaten 85 against LSG, breaking the record of MS Dhoni to be the highest scoring No.6 or lower batter in a successful IPL chase.
Jitesh recently revealed that he would be moving from Vidarbha to Baroda for the forthcoming season. His relationship with Krunal Pandya, his RCB colleague, may have contributed to his decision to go to Baroda as he had little first-class outings for Vidarbha because of Akshay Wadkar. Since making his debut at the 2023 Asian Games, the Amrawati native has participated in nine Twenty20 Internationals for India.
