The Asia Cup 2025 Match 2 between India and the United Arab Emirates was won by nine wickets and 93 balls remaining at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. A strong Men in Blue team was far too much matchless with the UAE though the run-chase only took 4.3 overs.
Muhammad Waseem (19 off 22) and Alishan Sharafu (22 off 17) were the two UAE hitters to be in the doubles. This was entirely dominating by the Suryakumar Yadav led team where Shivam Dube added three more wickets (3/4 in 2 overs) and Kuldeep Yadav added four wickets (4/7 in 2.1 overs).
The only wicket to fall for India was Abhishek Sharma, who was dismissed for a 16-ball 30, while captain Suryakumar Yadav (7* off 2) and Shubman Gill (20* off 9) were undefeated till the very finish. The UAE’s five bowlers each let up runs at a pace of more than ten runs per hour.
The next match between India and Pakistan will be a high-stakes match on Sunday, September 14. Having won the match with the second-most balls to spare by a full-member team in Twenty20 Internationals, they will feel a great sense of confidence. The United Arab Emirates will play Oman on Monday, September 15.
