Hardik Pandya struck early to dismiss Saim Ayub for a golden duck in the first legal delivery of Match No. 6 of the Asia Cup 2025 between India and Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, September 14. Ayub had suffered a similar fate in the match against Oman, therefore this was his second consecutive exit for a golden duck.
This time, a hint of spongy bounce off the wicket prompted Ayub to play on the up, resulting in the left-handed batsman spooning the catch right into Jasprit Bumrah’s hands at point. Bumrah was in a nice position to grab the ball and took advantage of a simple opportunity without fuss. In the high-stakes match, the Men in Green had lost Ayub without adding much to the board.

— Sony Sports Network (@SonySportsNetwk) September 14, 2025 Mohammad Haris, the Green Shirts’ leading scorer in their match against Oman, was out in the very next over. This time, he was only able to make three out of five. This time, the positions were reversed, with Hardik Pandya holding onto the opportunity at the deep backward square leg region while Bumrah was the bowler.

Haris tried to charge to Bumrah and play a pick-up shot. But in the end, he missed the ball. Hardik safely pouched onto the ball close to the deep square leg area as he ran in from fine leg. India was clearly overjoyed after quickly defeating Pakistan.
