A 41-run win over Bangladesh at the Dubai international stadium on September 24 secured their berth in the Asia Cup 2025 final. The victory further boosted their good streak in the tournament, as well as reaffirming their position as powerful title contenders.
After being asked to bat first, India’s openers picked up momentum midway through the powerplay and set the tone with an aggressive stand. Bangladesh, chasing 169, never looked comfortable against India’s bowling attack. Despite a fighting knock from Saif Hassan, the chase fizzled out as the Men in Blue maintained control throughout.
With that, here’s a look at India’s player ratings from their Super 4 clash against Bangladesh.
1. Abhishek Sharma – 9/10

Abhishek Sharma was in top form yet again. He took a few deliveries to adjust to the pitch but once settled, played freely against both pace and spin. While his fielding remains inconsistent, his batting has been nothing short of brilliant in this Asia Cup.
2. Shubman Gill – 7/10

Gill had a slow beginning as he found it difficult to pierce the field. He picked up the pace in the latter half of the powerplay but fell while attacking Rishad Hossain. The opener still needs to adapt better to India’s desired scoring rate.
3. Suryakumar Yadav – 2/10

The Indian captain struggled once more, falling to a soft dismissal down the leg side. He looked uncomfortable at the crease and his leadership decisions also raised questions. However, his fielding remained sharp throughout.
4. Tilak Varma – 5/10

Tilak scored just five runs and continued to look out of touch in this tournament. On the positive side, he grabbed a couple of catches and claimed the final Bangladesh wicket, contributing in the field.
5. Hardik Pandya – 8/10

Hardik played a vital knock, striking some powerful shots to become India’s second-highest scorer. With the ball, he bowled two controlled overs that went for only 14 runs, adding balance to the side.
6. Axar Patel – 4/10

Axar began well but later conceded runs, especially against Saif Hassan, finishing with 37 from four overs. His batting also lacked momentum and slowed India’s finish in the innings.
7. Shivam Dube – 2/10

Promoted up the order at No. 3, Dube once again failed to make an impact. His spin-hitting seems to have declined, and he also bowled an expensive over while dropping a catch in the deep.
9. Sanju Samson – 5/10

Samson didn’t feature in the top order and had little opportunity to influence the game. He gets a standard rating for this outing.
10. Varun Chakaravarthy – 8.5/10

Despite several catches being dropped off his bowling, Varun Chakaravarthy impressed with two wickets and an economy rate under eight. His variations troubled the batters, though he occasionally overpitched.
11. Kuldeep Yadav – 9/10

Kuldeep was the standout bowler, once again proving too good with his mix of googlies and pace changes. He finished with three wickets and was the main reason Bangladesh’s batting collapsed.
12. Jasprit Bumrah – 8/10

Bumrah found swing early with the new ball and bowled with great control. He bagged two wickets and gave away runs at just 4.5 per over, making this one of his most effective spells in the tournament.
