The Board of Control Cricket in India (BCCI) will declare the squad in the next two matches of the Test series against the West Indies on Thursday, September 25. The Test one will be hosted at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad between October 2 and 6, and the second will be hosted in the Arun Jaitley stadium in Delhi between October 10 and 14.
According to Gaurav Gupta of the Times of India, the announcement will be done in Dubai by the chief selector Ajit Agarkar on Thursday afternoon.

India recently has just tied their five-match Test series in England 2-2, which has provided them with a strong beginning in the 20252027 cycle of World Test Championship. Shubman Gill who led a young team of Indians, returned 754 runs with an average of 75.40 in ten innings. London and Birmingham were the victories of India.
India is the favorite going into the two-match home Test series versus the West Indies. Their goal against the Caribbean team will be to score all the points. But India will like to forget about their most recent home Test series, which ended in a 3-0 loss to New Zealand towards the end of last year.
In June and July, the West Indies played a series against Australia to begin their WTC campaign. In the lopsided home series, the team captained by Roston Chase lost all three games.

In the game’s longest format, India and the West Indies have played one another in 100 matches. The Caribbean team has won 30 games, compared to 23 victories for the Asian team. Forty-seven games finished in a tie.
The last red-ball game of these two teams was held in the Caribbean in July 2023. The two in the Test series were won 1-0 in favor of India. This was the same series where Yashasvi Jaiswal debuted internationally. Yashasvi Jaiswal made his international debut in this same series. In Roseau, Dominica, the southpaw struck 16 fours and one six to smash 171 off 387 balls in the opening Test.
