The ongoing war in West Asia has been a great hindrance in everyday life. The US-Israeli aggression against Iran has caused the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz making India less import the LPG of the countries such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar. India is on the verge of the beginning of the IPL 2026, which is a significant event in the country, and it has to cope with the lack of LPG resources, as well.
The official of the IPL has opined that they are closely monitoring what is happening in the region but that everything is under control despite current geopolitical issues that are bedeviling the life of India.
“We cannot preempt the situation. We have to wait and watch. Everyone we have spoken to says things are under control. Hotels are saying the same, so we have to go by that for now,” the official was quoted as saying in a report by India Today.

The region’s airspace shutdown also placed travel plans at risk. While South African and West Indies players were stuck in India for a week until the ICC arranged for a special chartered plane to take them to Johannesburg, from where the West Indies players would continue their journey, Zimbabwean players had to travel home via Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. It’s still unclear if players that utilize the Middle East as a layover location would have availability problems as a result of the turmoil.
According to the official, the only thing that has to be done is to observe how the situation develops rather than making any plans right away.
“As of now, everything is alright. We will keep an eye on the situation. Why should we preempt and decide something now?” he said.
The official added that a backup plan will be implemented if the circumstance materializes.
“We will definitely act as per the situation. If the situation demands that we do something, we will take the necessary steps,” the official added.

On March 28, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the reigning champions, will play Sunrisers Hyderabad at M Chinnaswamy Stadium to kick off the IPL.
