Shubman Gill, the captain of Gujarat Titans (GT), received high appreciation from fans for his outstanding performance against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Monday, April 21’s IPL 2025 match. He helped the Titans score a respectable 198 runs by hitting 90 off of 55 balls.
Gill and Sai Sudharsan, who were asked to bat first, took a cautious but optimistic tack and scored 45 runs during the powerplay. Gill took out 17 runs against Moeen Ali in the sixth over after the fielding limitations were removed. After hitting a six in the deep mid-wicket area, the right-hander came down the track and found spaces to hit two fours. In the eleventh over, he soon got his fifty off thirty-four balls.
The opening partnership was going well until Andre Russell removed Sudharsan (52) in the 13th over. Jos Buttler, however, maintained the team’s momentum by taking the initiative to set boundaries.
Thereafter, Gill targeted Varun Chakaravarthy and Sunil Narine to improve the team’s tempo. The GT captain hit Vaibhav Arora for sixes and fours in the eighteenth over before the bowler caught him in the deep mid-wicket area.
Shubman Gill’s innings comprised 10 fours and three sixes, and highlighted his calculative approach and strong ball-striking. Following his knock, fans expressed their admiration on X, with one commenting:
