Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir met his players and support staff for supper at his Delhi apartment on Sunday evening, ahead of the team’s T20 World Cup 2026 match against Namibia.
As the campaign of the India Group A is already underway as they have already won a tough match over the United States, the Men in Blue landed in the national capital on February 12 to play the second match against Namibia at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
In a viral video in the social media, the members of the Indian squad are seen reaching the home of Gautam Gambhir and being welcomed by the coach and his family. The event was attended by Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Abhishek Sharma among others.

‘Just try and bat till the end’ – Suryakumar Yadav reveals Gautam Gambhir’s tips during his knock vs USA

Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian captain, detailed his talk with the coach following Team India’s triumph over the United States. The right-hander was joined by the coach during his innings against the USA at Wankhede Stadium, where he was spotted conversing with Yadav.
“I always felt that there was a need for a batter to bat till the end. I never felt that it was a 180–190 wicket. I felt it was a 140 wicket. But then Gauti bhai told me the same thing during the break after 14 overs. He told me, ‘Just try and bat till the end; you can cover it any time’,” Suryakumar said at the post-match presentation.

The Mumbai hitter was also selected Player of the Match for his excellent effort, which helped his club out of a difficult situation.
