Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have also ensured that Justin Langer will remain their head coach in the IPL 2026 season. New members to their coaching staff were also announced by the franchise under Sanjiv Goenka of RPSG Group with Kane Williamson coming in as a strategic advisor and Carl Crowe coming in as spin-bowling coach.
LSG began their IPL life well, ending in the third place in their first season, in 2022 and same in the second season in 2023. Nevertheless, the recent two seasons have not been as successful as intended because the team has now finished in the seventh place in 2024 and 2025 with Langer in charge.

The management has trusted in the leadership and long term vision of Langer although the management has been struggling in the recent past. Langer is also known to be very disciplined and focused on teamwork since joining the team in 2024, he has contributed to building the culture of the team. LSG hopes that his experience and good coaching style will make them come back bigger in IPL 2026.
“We enter every IPL season full of hope and expectation – 2026 is no exception and we are excited about the work we have ahead of us as we continue building a franchise into one the Goenka family, our players, sponsors, supporters and fans are all immensely proud of. The work hasn’t stopped since the end of last season as we prepare to make our mark on this season’s IPL. The hope, expectation and passion for LSG is growing strongly. We are looking forward to strengthening our squad in the coming months. And, we look forward to seeing Ekana bathed in blue when the season kicks off,” Langer said as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

New Zealand former captain, Kane Williamson, has been employed as a strategic consultant to assist the franchise in building the backroom. The team has appointed Carl Crowe, who was a previously spin-bowling coach at the Kolkata Knight Riders, to the squad. Crowe has also rejoined Bharat Arun, who has replaced KKR as coach of the fast-bowling right at the beginning of this year.
