Indian wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul has recently reacted to a viral video of fan waving up his shirt during a convocation event. The great cricketer requested his fans not to engage in such actions in future.
Rahul also said that he had nothing to do with the academic success of the fans and the convocation was a personal merit that should be rejoiced on the personal efforts and devotion. He said that he was glad that he is respected but the fan should not have given such a big moment to another person.
“I’ve seen this. I think he came with a board earlier as well. So sweet, but it was his moment; he should keep it for himself. Please don’t do this, it’s your moment, you are graduating, don’t give it to somebody else. I have not helped him graduate,” said Rahul on ‘2 Sloggers’ YouTube Channel.

The 33-year-old also discussed his fitness, adding that his goal has always been to keep an aesthetically fit physique. He claimed that he gets inspiration from retired English footballer David Beckham, whose fitness has always affected him.
“I always wanted to be fit, and also fit-looking. A lot of cricketers are very fit, fitter than those who look fit aesthetically, but you don’t get that vibe when they remove the T-shirt. I always wanted to be that. Beckham ka fan hoon yaar (I’m a fan of Beckham),” said Rahul.

KL Rahul had had a great year as he became the second-best run-scorer in India in 2025 with 986 runs in 24 innings with an average score of 49.30. The last time he played was in India just gone three match one day international series with Australia, where he made 49 runs in two innings as the Men in Blue lost 1-2.
It is expected that the wicketkeeper-batsman will be part of the Indian team in the upcoming two-match home Test series against South Africa the first of which starts on November 14 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
