Faisal Malik, who plays Prahlad Pandey in ‘Panchayat,’ has chosen two Indian trainers who can play the series’ famous character, Banrakas. Panchayat is a web series that combines comedy and drama in Hindi.
Faisal was questioned if any Indian cricket players could embody the persona of Banrakas. He selected current head coach Gautam Gambhir and former head coach Ravi Shastri as the two potential candidates.
“Do option ho sakte hai. Yah toh Ravi Shastri ya toh Gautam Gambhir (There can be two options. Either Ravi Shastri or Gautam Gambhir).”

He has also been asked to select the characters able to fit in other characters in the series. When it came to the personality of Abhishek Tripathi, he chosen a star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli. In the case of the character of Brij Bhushan Dubey, which is acted by Raghubir Yadav, he chose MS Dhoni.
In the case of Bam Bahadur character, he chose Rajasthan Royals (RR) sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi. In that, surprisingly, he has chosen Indian ODI captain Rohit Sharma as the protagonist of his own character, Prahlad Pandey.
Gautam Gambhir’s Test Credentials Challenged as India Aim to Bounce Back in Birmingham

The Indian squad is presently playing a five-match Test series in England. The visitors lost the first Test in Leeds by five wickets and are 0-1 in the series. India will try to recover and tie the series going into the second Test, which starts in Birmingham on Wednesday, July 2.
Gautam Gambhir, the head coach, will be under a lot of strain as the squad tries to avoid losing again and falling behind 0–2. Because of his ability to manage his workload, elite bowler Jasprit Bumrah is probably going to be rested for the second Test. Since they didn’t look as dangerous in the first Test, the bowling attack will suffer greatly in his potential absence.

Notably, India has already dropped two straight Test series since Gautam Gambhir took over as coach. They fell to Australia in the 2024–25 Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) after first suffering a thumping at home against New Zealand. Gambhir’s job could be seriously threatened if he loses the Test series for the third time in a row. The team will feel more confident and the series will continue if they win the second Test.
