Sundar Pichai, Google CEO of the multinational internet firm, joined Team India batting star Shubman Gill on his visit to India. Pichai posted an Instagram picture of the 26-year-old and gave his thanks to Google India because they made him feel at home.
Shubman Gill was also recently spotted in France with ex-footballer Rio Ferdinand watching the premier league, having not been included in the England T20 world cup 2026 team. The right handed batsman was to feature in the premier tournament of 20 teams, however, his poor performances and returns compelled the selectors to make the hard choice of dropping the batsman.
Pichai took to Instagram and wrote:
“My favourite part of travelling anywhere is spending time with Googlers around the world. Even more true when Shubman Gill is there too! Google India thank you for having me!”
Pichai was born in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, and became the CEO of Google in 2015.
Shubman Gill’s next appearance for India is set to be in June 2026

In the meantime, the next Team India trip to the Punjab-born cricketer will be in June, 2026, as Afghanistan comes to play one-off Test and three One Day Internation. The child replaced Rohit Sharma as captain in the ODI before the previous year tour of Australia but has yet to perform well as the captain.
The Men in Blue did not only lose a 50-over series in Australia but they also lost a historic Test series with New Zealand back home. As a batter, he was not able to impress down under.

Gill will be seeking to restore trust in the new Indian premier league (IPL). The right-hander has been reappointed as the captain of the Gujarat Titans who were in the playoffs last year and lost in Qualifier 2.
IPL 2026 is expected to start on March 26, 18 days after the T20 World Cup final.
