Indian spinner Varun Chakravarthy has come out in defence of one of young *Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 (KBC Junior) contestants Ishit Bhatt who has been the target of online trolling due to his behaviour in the reality show. The Gujarati 10-year-old virtually became viral after the episode he had with host Amitabh Bachchan, which was seen by many viewers as too full of himself and unmannerly in nature.
However, Chakravarthy condemned social media users because they are unsparing of a child who is still learning and growing. He stated that people ought to be emphatic rather than criticize a child based on a brief TV image. The cricketer was reminding everyone that children should not be shunned by society, but rather shown kindness.
Ishit would be cutting off Bachchan throughout the episode, insisting he already knew the rules and asking the host to hurry up. His comments blew up, and most people came after him for being disrespectful. It didn’t take long for this to devolve into an unsightly spectacle with the trolls targeting not just the boy but also his parents.

To criticize the negativism, Chakravarthy termed social media as a haven of cowards who cower behind the screens to abuse others. He called on people to be more tolerant and to cease to entertain children. His message was a reminder that compassion and patience can go along way particularly when it comes to young minds.
“Example of how social media has become a place for cowards running their mouths without any sense! He is a kid for god’s sake! Let him grow! If you can’t tolerate a kid, imagine the society still tolerating many nut cases like the ones commenting on this kid and much more!!!!,” he wrote on X.

Another issue raised by the controversy was the contemporary parenting and child conduct in society. Some experts hold the view that nature and nurture influence a child in terms of temperament and that the environment can modify the temperament but not to the extent that they are under the control of parents.
