India's Rohit Sharma (R) and Virat Kohli celebrate their win in the third one-day international (ODI) men's cricket match

An Australian television reporter could not hold his tears back when he was watching Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli playing together in Australia, perhaps, the final time.

The three match ODI series was a tear-drop moment to all the cricket lovers, more so to those ones who have been with Kohli and Rohit through thick and thin. It was a seven month absence and their first international appearance was back in the cricket field. The two former India captains no longer play Tests or even T20Is, now playing exclusively in the 50-over format in the Men in Blue.

In the third and last ODI, Kohli and Rohit made a second-wicket partnership of 168 runs of 169 balls to assist India to overtake a 237-run target in 38.3 overs with nine wickets remaining. Rohit Sharma was not defeated on 121 out of 125 balls whereas Kohli hit 74 not out on 81 balls.

Rohit Named Player of the Series as India End ODIs on a High Before T20I Clash

Rohit Sharma of India celebrates after reaching his century during game three of the One Day International series between Australia and India at Sydney Cricket Ground

Rohit became Player of the Series when he scored a half-century in the second ODI at Adelaide and an undefeated century in the third at Sydney. Kohli on the other hand did not have a good introduction to the tournament as she could not score during the first two ODIs. But he did show his capability in the third ODI.

Australia lost the third ODI but clinched the series after winning the first two matches. The two teams will now play a five-match T20I series starting Wednesday, October 29, at Manuka Oval in Canberra.
