Indian cricketer Tilak Varma was warmly welcomed at Hyderabad Airport after taking India to the Final Asia Cup 2025. His match-winning 69 in the match against Pakistan in Dubai contributed to the India winning its ninth Asia Cup title.
Varma was met by fans with drums and cheers, given a bouquet and reporters flocked to listen to his account on the high-pressure final.

Notably, Sahibzada Farhan was the top scorer with 57, while the rest of the batting lineup struggled to build momentum. Meanwhile, India’s Yadav Kuldeep delivered a stellar performance, taking four crucial wickets to restrict the opposition. As a result, India successfully chased down the target and ultimately secured a confident victory.
In the pursuit of India, the steady and serene inning of Tilak Varma ensured that the team was always on the right path. It was all over on the last over as Rinku Singh struck the winning runs and India was able to end the match with two balls to spare.
Varma was delighted to win on the field. His excellent play resulted in him being awarded the Player of the Match award making it a memorable evening and making him one of the rising Indian cricket stars.
“It was pressure. They were bowling well. They were mixing the pace up. I was breathing and trying to stay calm. Fantastic knock from Samson. The way Dube batted under pressure was helpful and important for the country. We have prepared for every position. You should be flexible. I was prepared to bat at any position. I was backing my game. When the wickets are on the slower side, I have talked to Gauti sir and have worked hard. One of the most special knocks of my life. This is for all the Indians,” said Varma after the match.
