Harshit Rana has faced harsh criticism from both fans and analysts for his uneven performances with the ball throughout forms. However, the right-arm seamer has overcome adversity and is beginning to show glimpses of his skill.
Harshit has represented India in two Tests, nine One-Day Internationals, and five Twenty20 Internationals. He has grabbed four, 19, and five wickets but has also conceded plenty of runs. His economy rates in Tests, ODIs, and T20s were 4.51, 5.93, and 10.69 respectively.
Harshit’s performances have been questioned by both fans and experts. India head coach Gautam Gambhir has also faced accusations of favoritism toward the bowler, who played a key role in Kolkata Knight Riders’ 2024 IPL title win under his guidance.

Former India captain Kris Srikkanth stated that Harshit makes the Indian team because he is a “yes guy” to Gambhir. Following the allegation, the latter came forward to defend the Delhi pacer.
The 23-year-old has now spoken out about the online haters and insults he has recently faced. Harshit stated that he does not focus on outside noise since he is aware that it will put him under strain.
“Look, sir, if I listen to all these things and get into the ground by putting pressure on my mind, then I don’t think I will be able to play cricket. So, I try to avoid as much as possible,” Rana said while speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of the second ODI against South Africa, which is set to be played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on Wednesday, December 3.”

“I just pay attention to what I have to do on the ground. I don’t care about what is happening outside or what someone is saying about me. What I have to do on the ground, I just focus on my hard work and what I am going to do on the ground.”
