Dhawan also finished as the highest run-scorer of that tournament, displaying outstanding consistency with three centuries and a half-century. However, India’s campaign came to an end with a semi-final defeat against Pakistan.

In the overall history of the Under-19 World Cup, Dhawan stands as the second-highest run-getter in a single edition, with South Africa’s Dewald Brevis narrowly edging past him after scoring 506 runs in the 2021–22 tournament.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi delivered a fantastic hit in the final of the Under-19 World Cup 2026 on Friday, February 6. India won the trophy for the sixth time in a row, defeating England by a resounding 100 runs.

India batted first and scored a huge total of 411/9. Vaibhav Suryavanshi led the assault and smashed the England bowlers all over the park. The opener hit a monster hundred, scoring 175 runs off 80 balls, including 15 fours and sixes.

England made a valiant effort but fell far short of a massive aim. They were knocked out for 311 in 40.2 overs. Vaibhav Suryavanshi and his teammates had a great campaign, dominating from start to finish.

On that point, let us look at the top five Indian batters who have scored the most runs in an Under-19 World Cup.

4. Uday Saharan

Uday Saharan, India’s captain during the 2023–24 edition, finds himself fourth on this list. Leading from the front, the skipper finished as the tournament’s highest run-getter with 397 runs from seven matches at an average of 56.71, which included a century and three half-centuries.

Despite his strong performances, Saharan’s efforts with the bat were not enough to guide India to the title, as they lost to Australia in the final by 79 runs. Even so, the 21-year-old enjoyed a memorable tournament on a personal level.

3. Yashasvi Jaiswal

He amassed 400 runs from six matches at an impressive average of 133.33, registering one century and four half-centuries in a highly consistent campaign. Jaiswal was also India’s top scorer in the final against Bangladesh with 88 runs, but his brilliance could not prevent a narrow three-wicket defeat.
