India thrashed Namibia by 93 runs at the Arun Jaitley in Delhi in their Group B match of the 2026 T20 World Cup on Thursday, February 12. With this the Men in Blue notched their second win of the event. Previously, Suryakumar Yadav and co. had defeated United States of America (USA) by 29 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

On Thursday, Namibia won the toss and elected to bat first against India. They posted a huge 209-9 on the board in their 20 overs with opener Ishan Kishan smashing 61 from 24 balls and all-rounder Hardik Pandya striking 52 off 28 deliveries. Namibia were bowled out for 116 in 18.2 overs in the chase. Varun Chakaravarthy shone with the ball with two overs of carnage for 3-7.

5. India won by 68 runs against England in Guyana, during the 2024 T20 World Cup semifinal

India beat England by 68 runs in the second semifinal of the 2024 T20 World Cup, at Providence Stadium, Guyana. Invited to bat, India scored 171 for seven before the bowlers held their nerves to restrict England to 103 all out in 16.4 overs.

Captain Rohit Sharma led the charge with 57 off 39 balls for India as Suryakumar made an important 47 off 36 deliveries. In reply, England faltered against slow bowlers India left-arm spinner Axar Patel taking 3-23 and wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav chipping in with 3-19.

4. India defeated Zimbabwe by 71 runs in Melbourne – 2022 T20 World Cup

The Indian team defeated Zimbabwe by 71 runs at the hallowed Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in the Super 12 stage of the 2022 T20 World Cup. Batting first after winning the toss in this clash, Men in Blue managed a total of 186/5. During the chase, Zimbabwe were skittled for 115 in 17.2 overs.

With the bat, Suryakumar (61* off 25), shone for India. Batting at the top of the order KL Rahul to scored a quick-fire 51 off 35 balls. Ryan Burl top-scored with 35 for Zimbabwe in the chase. Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers for Team India with figures of 3-22 while Mohammad Shami and Pandya scalped two wickets each.

3. India won by 73 runs against Australia at Mirpur -2014 T20 World Cup

The superstitious hoi polloi had pharma party with team India at they beat Australia by a thumping margin of 73 runs in the Super 10 round of the T20 World Cup 2014 match held at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur. Opting to bat, the Men in Blue scored 159/7 in their 20 overs and then bowled out Australia for 86 in 16.2 overs.

India fell to 66 for four batting first. But Yuvraj Singh’s 60 from just 43 balls helped to carry them to a decent total. Ashwin soon did serious damage to Australia’s batting, finishing with 4-11 from 3.2 overs. Ravindra Jadeja was another notable performer with 2-18 from his four overs and leg-spinner Amit Mishra took 2-13 in three.

2. India defeated England in Colombo – 2012 T20 World Cup by 90 runs

Team India’s former record for the T20 World Cup’s biggest win by runs against England at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo in 2012. Asked to bat, India posted 170–4 on the board before restricting the English side for 80 in 14.4 overs.

Rohit (55* off 33) was the highest run-getter for India with the bat, while Gambhir (45 off 38) and Virat Kohli (40 off 32) made useful contributions as well. Harbhajan Singh blew England away with the ball, taking the stunning figures of 4-2-12-4. Irfan Pathan and Piyush Chawla also had two wickets apiece.

India’s 93-run victory over Namibia in Delhi on Thursday is now their biggest win by runs in T20 World Cup. Sent in to bat, India lost Sanju Samson for a cameo of 22 runs off eight balls. Kishan kept up his brilliant form but Namibia struck back to reduce India to 124 for four. The Pandya onslaught helped them cross the 200-run mark.

Namibia never got out of the blocks in the chase. Their openers Louren Steenkamp (29 off 20) and Jan Frylinck (22 off 15) were the only two batsmen who managed to make more than 20. For the Men in Blue, besides Chakaravarthy’s heroics, Axar bagged 2-20 from three overs and Pandya ended up with figures of 2-21 from four.
