Gautam Gambhir started coaching Abhishek Sharma right there on the team bus. But sir, please stop this show in front of the cameras. You should have learned from Rohit Sharma how to explain things to a player, how to build their confidence, and how to bring out their best… pic.twitter.com/MmBKCRqY6d

Abhishek Sharma has struggled to score runs in the T20 World Cup 2026. He had three consecutive ducks in as many group stage matches. The left-hander eventually got off the mark in India’s first Super 8 match against South Africa. However, his stay was brief, as he was removed for 15 runs off 12 balls.
The great batter will be eager to regain his form and make important contributions in the future games.
India began their Super 8 campaign with a huge loss to South Africa

The T20 world cup 2026 is a tournament that India had gone unbeatable but a massive defeat in the first Super 8 match against the Proteas led to a halt in this streak. They received a humiliating 76-run defeat in Ahmedabad.
South Africa, who batted first, had a hard time getting 187/7 in 20 overs. The Men in Blue turned the chase into an utter debacle, and did not resist in any way. They were reduced to three wickets during the powerplay and caved in to the pressure and were eventually bowled out to only 111 runs in 18.5 overs.
Team India will be in stress and they now need to win their remaining two Super 8 games by all means necessary to keep the race to qualify in the semifinals. They will take the West Indies in their last Super 8 game on Sunday the 1st of March at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata after their match with Zimbabwe.
