Two balls. When Ravindra Jadeja made his eagerly anticipated comeback, it took him that long to take a wicket for the Rajasthan Royals. Sweet homecomings, huh?
In the first over of the third IPL match between the Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings, Jadeja dismissed Sarfaraz Khan, trapping him plumb in front, while bowling the eighth over. When Sarfaraz tried to sweep a length ball that spun away, the ball struck his back and he was beaten under the bat.
The ball struck the top of the middle stump on Sarfaraz’s review, and the umpire raised his finger without hesitation. The experienced all-rounder’s first wicket against his former team since returning to the pink of the Royals. The Super Kings were sinking at 51/5 at that moment.
Soon, one scalp turned into two. Jadeja took another wicket, this time of the dangerous Shivam Dube, in his fantastic opening over of the match. Dube sent the alluring offering high in the air after being hit for a six three balls earlier, going full and wide. However, he was only able to reach Ravi Bishnoi, who was positioned at long-off for the catch. At the conclusion of Jadeja’s over, CSK was 57/6.
