During the Indian premier League (IPL) 2026, Match No.6, Varun Chakravarthy made a gorgeous low catch to send away a well-established Abhishek Sharma in Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The team of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) started well off their feet after being sent to bat, and Abhishek appeared to be in an excellent mood and on the verge of a half-century. But his tremendous knock was curtailed in the ninth over.
On the fourth delivery, Bowling the over, Blessing Muzarabani threw a short-of-length ball. Abhishek tried to hit a pull shot where there was not much room, and he struck it flat towards deep square leg. The ball, however, did not go through. Varun Chakravarthy stood on the deep, and was incredibly aware and agile. More of a mystery spin than fielding, he was bent low and reached out to the ball a few inches above the ground to make a wonderful catch.

Abhishek Sharma was sacked due to his fast 48 out of 21 balls which comprised of two fours and four sixes giving his team a good start before he left.
