Axar Patel of Delhi Capitals celebrates the wicket.

The 35th Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Delhi Capitals (DC) will take place in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday, April 19. In the sweltering heat of a city under yellow alert till April 20, the doubleheader will be played in the afternoon.

1. Sai Sudharsan vs Mitchell Starc2. KL Rahul vs Sai Kishore3. Jos Buttler vs Axar Patel

In their most recent match, Delhi defeated the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in a spectacular super over, while GT lost to the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their previous match. Axar Patel and company will try to maintain the momentum, while Shubman Gill’s team will want to return to winning ways.

Here are three player battles to watch as the two sides prepare to face off:

1. Sai Sudharsan vs Mitchell Starc

Mitchell Starc bowled three overs worth of yorkers to win the game for Capitals

Sai Sudharsan, a batsman for Gujarat, is playing at his best right now, scoring goals for his team on a regular basis. With four victories from six games, the Titans are presently in the top half of the standings, and Sudharsan has been instrumental in each of those victories.

With the new ball, Mitchell Starc has performed admirably for the Capitals. He is a threat to the opposition and a lethal new-ball bowler, even though he hasn’t been among the wickets much. Even though Starc may slow down Sudharsan’s pace, the Australian can still smash him for long runs.

2. KL Rahul vs Sai Kishore

KL Rahul raises his fifty, Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Delhi Capitals

Over the past several years, Sai Kishore has been a vital player of the Gujarat Titans’ squad and has shown himself to be a good bowler. Kishore has been a viable option as Rashid Khan is still having trouble finding his footing. He has also taken wickets at pivotal moments.

The batsman KL Rahul demonstrates strong batting performance at this moment. Northern Knight played against Royal Challengers Bengaluru with fierce batting followed by an underwhelming performance against Mumbai Indians which led him to regain his batting spirit in the team’s match against Rajasthan Royals.

Will he rebuild #DC’s innings after a rocky start in the powerplay? 👀

The upcoming match will fascinate spectators because both standouts performed well after powerplay periods.

3. Jos Buttler vs Axar Patel

Jos Buttler plays it late, Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Gujarat Titans Match

Jos Buttler, one of the Gujarat team’s most potent hitters, would be eager to take on the Delhi bowlers in order to start the scorecard moving. In T20 cricket, the GT batter and the DC captain have a strong playing record against one another.

WELL PLAYED, CAPTAIN AXAR PATEL.

The former English captain has amassed 116 runs in these appearances, hitting eight fours and six maximums, while Axar has removed him three times in 89 balls in 16 innings. Patel has done a fantastic job of controlling Buttler, as evidenced by his strike rate of 130.33.
