On Thursday, May 8, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) vs. Delhi Capitals (DC) IPL 2025 game was canceled. Fans and players were evacuated from the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala after the game was called off in the middle.
One of the spectators responded to the cancellation of the IPL 2025 match as they were leaving the stadium. The fan was questioned about the reason behind the game’s cancellation. In response, he stated that event was canceled for security reasons. When questioned if the atmosphere was frightening, the fan responded that Indians shouldn’t be concerned and Pakistanis should be.
“Security reason ke wajah se band kardiya match. Apne desh mai hai. Pakistan wale dare, hume kisi baat ka dar nahi hai (The match was called off due to security reason. We are in our country. People of Pakistan should be scared, we have nothing to worry about),” he said.

The future of the rest of the tournament is in jeopardy because the IPL 2025 match between PBKS and DC was canceled. Vice-president of the BCCI Rajeev Shukla said that after assessing the circumstances, a decision about the tournament’s future will be made on Friday, May 9.
He went on to say that right now, the players’ safety is the top priority.
“We will take a call on the tournament’s future depending on the situation tomorrow. As of now, players’ safety is utmost important,” Rajeev Shukla was quoted as saying by The Times of India.
Reports say that an IPL Governing Council meeting is in progress to recommend the fate of the rest of the tournament and more details are awaited. RCB and LSG are set to play at Ekana Stadium at Lucknow on Friday, May 9.
