Abhishek Sharma again justified the reason why he is one of the most action-packed young batters in world cricket today as he decimated an eye-opening 75 off 37 balls on Wednesday, September 24 against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup Super Fours match. The Dubai International Cricket stadium was filled with spectators, and the left hander provided them with what they had gone to see that is, fearless and attacking cricket. Abhishek took control of the bowlers at the very first instance with perfect hits and sound strike playing.
The Punjab southpaw struck six boundaries and five massive sixes during his innings, racing to his fifty in no time and keeping India’s scoring rate well ahead of the required pace. At 75 inside 11 overs, he looked on course to bring up the first century of the tournament and was in complete control of the game. Unfortunately for India, his brilliant knock came to an end in the 12th over, when a moment of brilliance in the field changed everything.

Rishad Hossain’s stunning direct-hit run-out stuns Suryakumar in Asia Cup 2025 clash
Suryakumar Yadav guided the first ball of Mustafizur Rahman’s over towards backward point, but Rishad Hossain anticipated perfectly. He dived full stretch to stop what seemed like a certain boundary, quickly gathered the ball, and threw it straight to the non-striker’s end. Mustafizur picked it up with a clean hand, crippled the stumps before Abhishek made it back, and left the batter without his ground. The offside goal was taken offside but this underscored the importance of a single good field being used to change the tide of the game in a high intensity match.
