The Delhi Capitals (DC) have declared that tickets for their IPL 2025 matchup with the Gujarat Titans (GT), which was initially set for Sunday, May 11 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, will be returned.
The announcement follows a one-week IPL 2025 suspension. Midway through the match, DC’s last match against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Dharamsala on May 8 was called off.
On its X Twitter, the franchise verified that the GT clash tickets would be refunded, saying:
“Match cancelled. Tickets will be refunded. Further details to follow.”
SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) also guaranteed ticket refunds to fans for their upcoming IPL 2025 fixtures earlier in the day.
In the meantime, the IPL released the following statement (via IPL X handle) about the one-week suspension:
“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to suspend the remainder of the ongoing TATA IPL 2025 with immediate effect for one week. Further updates regarding the new schedule and venues of the tournament will be announced in due course after a comprehensive assessment of the situation in consultation with relevant authorities and stakeholders.”
There are still 16 league-stage games remaining, including the playoffs, with 58 of the 70 already played. With eight victories in 11 games, GT leads the points table, while the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) sit in last place with three victories in 12 games.
DC stuttered after a sensational start to IPL 2025
DC’s IPL 2025 campaign got off to an incredible start as they easily won their first four games. But after the first burst, they faltered due to numerous changes in the batting order.
Axar Patel’s team dropped from first place to the center of the pack after losing four of their next six games. Rain (against SRH) and technical difficulties (against PBKS) have forced them to cancel their past two excursions.
DC has 13 points from 11 games, and the point splits for the PBKS match are still up in the air. They are in fifth place in the points rankings, narrowly outside the top four.
